Certification training is the law. The 1990 amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Act require virtually all Ontario workplaces with 20 or more employees to establish joint health and safety committees. At least two committee members, one representing the employer and one representing the workers, must be certified through an approved CPO Certification program.

Part Two, Manufacturing and Office Hazards focuses on significant hazards common to the manufacturing and office sector. The goal is to assist employees in the manufacturing and office sector that has completed Basic Certification Part One to complete Part Two Certification. Over 2 days (1 day per week) of in-class training, participants will learn about common manufacturing and office hazards and how these can be recognized, assessed and controlled. Our course has been developed to include 6 self-standing modules that meet the objectives set by the CPO for sector-specific common hazard training. A few of the six modules covered are Machine Safety, Ergonomics, Workplace Violence, Manual Materials Handling.

Day Two:

  2. Slips, Trips & Falls
  3. Workplace Violence & Harassment
  4. Mechanical Material Handling
